How Betting Works
Outcome markets
An outcome market settles to a fixed value based on a real-world result — for example “Team X wins the World Cup.” Shares trade in cents between $0 and $1. If your outcome happens, each share settles at $1; if not, at $0.
Prices are probabilities
The price is the market’s live probability: a share at 40¢ means the market prices that outcome at roughly 40%. Buying YES at 62¢ costs $0.62 per share and pays $1.00 per share if YES settles.
Market vs limit orders
- Market order — fills immediately at the best available book prices.
- Limit order — rests on the book at your chosen price until someone trades against it (you can cancel anytime). Limit orders are how you can get a better price than the current market.
Multi-outcome markets
In markets like a tournament winner, each outcome trades separately and exactly one will settle at $1.
Opening auction
New markets open with a short single-price auction (roughly 15 minutes) before continuous trading starts. During the auction you can place orders, but they all cross at one opening price when trading begins.
Do you offer parlays / accas? Not currently — every market is a single position.
